The Final Court (最終館, Saishūkan) is the unicameral national legislature of Taihei Tengoku. It creates and passes laws, elects the Secular Regency, and serves as the court of final appeal. It has been in continuous session since its founding in 1861.
The Final Court meets for 240 days a year in the Great Hall of the Court in Nara. Judges are elected to six-year terms and can be re-elected indefinitely. Elections occur every other year for a third of the seats at the beginning of the winter recess on a parallel voting system, with single-member metropolitan districts and two party-list votes for the commanderies and the Kazashimo Islands. At the end of recess new judges are confirmed by the other members of the court.
