The Pearl Sea is a marginal sea of the Alqosian Ocean, between the Rochehautese peninsula, Caroline Islands, and Jungastia. It is connected to the Karskar Sea to the north.
Etymology and names
The sea has been called by many names throughout history and has several names in various languages. The most common name used by the international community is the French, "mer de Perle", which is derived directly from the lucrative pearl beds of the region and was first recorded during ____'s explorations in ????.
In Guurdalai, the sea is also named for the pearl trade and is known as Suvdan Dalain in Närangol. Historically the Sea has also been known as the Güyekhen, Khoid, and Taivan.
