Brno (English pronunciation: /ˈbɜrnoʊ/;[7] Pollonan pronunciation: [ˈbr̩no]), otherwise known as Port Brno, is the largest city in Pollona and the capital of the city-state of Brno. With an urban population of 5.4 million and over 8.7 million in the metropolitan area, it is one of the largest cities in Alisna. The city is the largest contributor to Pollonan GDP, approximately 10% or $240 Billion in 2015 alone.

Situated at the mouth of the Lomná river, Brno was founded as a convenient, deep-water port for international traders in the mid-12th century. It was the capital of the Merchant Republic of Svitava (1437-1570) and of the Duchy of Brno (1570-1917) in the Moravian Imperial Era, growing rapidly in 20th century Pollona. The city is an international hub for finance, commerce, industry, technology, telecommunications, and transportation: Brno Harbor is one of the busiest harbors in Maredoratica and the city is the freight hub of Pollona. The nation's premier stock exchange, the CBSE, and many of Pollona's top multinational companies are headquartered in Brno.

Modern Brno is the base of a large, cosmopolitan startup culture. The city is well known for its festivals, modern architecture, nightlife, entertainment venues, arts scene, and its high quality of living. Brno has professional sports teams in most of the international leagues, and hosts the annual Alisnan Cup Regatta. As of 2015, Port Brno is ranked as one of Maredoratica's global cities.
