The Southern Ocean extends from the Tropic of Capricorn to the South Pole. It is the only ocean in Maredoratica that does not touch a major continent. It is known for the Southern Circumpolar Current, the largest ocean current in the world, and the only one that flows unimpeded around the entire globe. The Southern Ocean is known for its exceptionally rough seas and poor weather, due mostly to the presence of the Circumpolar Current.
